Operating a stitcher in a competitive and high-tech environment requires superior knowledge and skills. Certification by the National Council of Print Industry Certifications signifies a comprehensive knowledge of the Stitcher production process. By passing this examination you will become one of a small group of certified Stitcher operators in the printing industry. Since the National Council’s founding in 1995 less than 1,000 sheetfed, web offset, and flexographic operators, as well as Stitcher and adhesive binding operators have attained this status. Certification reinforces your high level of knowledge to your employer and its customers. Further, it helps customers trust your company’s ability to deliver on its commitments. Finally, the presence of certified operators underscores that our industry is staffed by world-class technical professionals, the equal of other countries and manufacturing industries.
The Stitcher Certification Examination is challenging – it consists of nearly 200 questions and takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. The questions range from basics about safety and procedure to specifics on printing process and technique. When successfully completed, there will be no mistaking that you will stand alongside some of the most experienced and knowledgeable Stitcher operators in the industry.
